thank you for this !! I’m only 24 and already feeling like i failed before i’ve even started (which is preposterous lol). “it will never be this hard again because so many people are rooting for you” really resonated with me. i think failing helps strengthen your support system (and connections to friends who “fail” in similar ways) which is crucial
Exactly! And every year you meet different people who will help you get to where you need to go in ways you won’t even be able to imagine right now!! That whole thing of “you don’t know who’s watching you right now” is so real!!
For much of my worklife there were a random series of meaningless occupations ~ made enough money to pay the bills yet never let the 'artist' inside of me breathe.
TRUTH: It takes SEVEN YEARS to become an overnight success.

I was 56 before my talent was recognized

thank you for leaving this comment and telling your story! It is so refreshing!!! I am happy your talent was recognized and that you kept going even though I bet at times it was hard! You are a great example for all of us who are trying thank you!!
I turned 30 a month ago, and it came with a lot of question the last year. Especially about this society praise of successful peippe under 30. I felt like I had achieve nothing. I mostly failed stuff. But that’s because I failed these stuff that I got where I am today, and I wouldn’t change that for anything. And even without failure, not rushing into whatever success means, taking the time and have the will to go through even when you don’t know if it will work the way you imagine, I find it inspiring. That’s the reality of most successful people. We simply don’t see their process. We only share the quick and fast ones, because they are rare, and then it makes everyone feel bad. The same way not every one will be a big movie star, nor everyone can succeed in 10min ! Anyway thank you !!!!
“It was comforting to be reminded of my temporary circumstances in a moment where they felt endless.” wow wow wow, needed this big time 🫶🏻 sometimes i read things that feel like they reached in and plucked a brick off my chest, and this is one of those times 💌
I cried so much reading this, thank you for being patient about writing this. It’s everything I needed to hear to keep going. This means so much to me 🥹🫂❤️
