For much of my worklife there were a random series of meaningless occupations ~ made enough money to pay the bills yet never let the 'artist' inside of me breathe.
TRUTH: It takes SEVEN YEARS to become an overnight success.

thank you for leaving this comment and telling your story! It is so refreshing!!! I am happy your talent was recognized and that you kept going even though I bet at times it was hard! You are a great example for all of us who are trying thank you!!
thank you for this !! I’m only 24 and already feeling like i failed before i’ve even started (which is preposterous lol). “it will never be this hard again because so many people are rooting for you” really resonated with me. i think failing helps strengthen your support system (and connections to friends who “fail” in similar ways) which is crucial
Exactly! And every year you meet different people who will help you get to where you need to go in ways you won’t even be able to imagine right now!! That whole thing of “you don’t know who’s watching you right now” is so real!!
“It was comforting to be reminded of my temporary circumstances in a moment where they felt endless.” wow wow wow, needed this big time 🫶🏻 sometimes i read things that feel like they reached in and plucked a brick off my chest, and this is one of those times 💌
tearing up over the Nicola Coughlan article that you linked. I moved home a month before my 29th bday and have had every single self-deprecating thought she mentioned. This article NEEDS to be seen by everyone in their late 20s
I cried so much reading this, thank you for being patient about writing this. It’s everything I needed to hear to keep going. This means so much to me 🥹🫂❤️
Ava, reading this felt like taking a deep breath
